Santa Barbara Island had a total of 67 pups, 56 adult females, 5 subadult and adult males, and 0 juvenile for a grand total of 128. Census was taken by Mark Lowry a biologist with the Southwest National Oceanographic Atmospheric Association (NOAA). He collected the data at the end of the breeding season in the winter.
