Migration

What is Migration?

Migration is when species leaves where they normally reside and goes somewhere else. They will go to the same areas every year. They do this for different reasons. When they are not on land breeding or molting, they migrate from their breeding area to different areas looking for food. Gray whales have a famous migration. Every winter the gray whale will leave Alaska and will travel thousands of miles down to baja to give birth, they return back to Alaska the following spring.
